Prior Years and Presentation Notes.
Dennis Ahern. One of America's leading Irish Genealogists, Dennis is the author of numerous articles on Irish genealogy and history and on New England and Civil War history. A featured speaker at New England genealogy conferences, Dennis is a resident of Acton, MA.
Diane Rapaport. Diane is the award winning author of New England Court Records and The Naked Quaker, stories of colorful characters in early New England court cases. She is a frequent contributer to The New England Ancestor [NEHGS] and The Highlander. Diane is a former trial lawyer and is a resident of Lexington, MA.
Paula Greene. Paula is the Director of the LDS Family History Center in Brewster, and is an expert on the use of LDS resources locally and in Salt Lake City. She resides in Yarmouth, MA.
Society Members. Several members of our Society will tell their own stories of the difficult problems or "brick walls" they faced and overcame in researching their own families. These stories and the methods used to solve the problems may prove helpful in ways to overcome your own brick walls.
Todd Kelley. Todd is a native-born son of Chatham, whose ancestor came to Cape Cod as an indentured servant in the 1650's. Todd is a naturalist and historian with a special emphasis on the land and culture of Cape Cod, both Native American and early English Settler. He is a frequent speaker and leader of nature walks on the Cape.
Plimoth Plantation Speakers Bureau. The Plimoth Plantation will be providing a speaker from their speakers bureau, all of whom are experts on the culture and history of the Native American peoples of Southeastern Massachusetts.
Leslie Huber. Leslie is a well-known researcher and speaker on Western European Genealogy, especially German and Swedish research. She will cover the demographic, religious, and occupational background that will help you in improving research results in this area.
Christopher Skelly. Christopher, Director of Local Government Programs of the MA Historical Commission, is a specialist in laws, procedures, and ordinances that enable communities to preserve their historic character. His topic delves into the connection between preservation and genealogy.
Plimoth Plantation Speakers Bureau. One of the expert historians from the Plimoth Plantation will discuss the early Pilgrim settlers who migrated to Cape Cod and are ancestors of so many Cape Codders of today.
Meetings are held at the Brewster Ladies' Library Auditorium, 1822 Main Street, Brewster, MA on the second Wednesday of each month, from 10AM to 12Noon (unless otherwise noted).
